Grades K - 4 enjoyed the heartwarming story, Everybody's Tree, by Barbara Joosse. This story starts with a little boy who plants a seedling spruce tree which grows in his parents yard for many years as he grows to one day raise a family of his own. Once he becomes a grandfather, the tree is beginning to die and the family makes the decision to donate the tree to the neighboring city to share with everyone. Everyone is overjoyed with this kind gesture and that's how it's name came to be, the "Everybody's Tree."
Ms. Robinson created a very simple craft made out of felt. Thank you to her husband Brad for cutting all the wood bases for the trees. Students had fun putting together their own Everybody's Tree to keep.
